Independent Living Activities Calendar – September 1–19, 2026: September 2026 Independent Living activities calendar with a fall apple-themed header, covering September 1 through 19. Daily programming includes aqua fitness, strength and mobility classes, water workouts, chair yoga, Rock Steady Boxing, painting, Tai Chi, resident council, tech help, movie nights, poker and creative projects. Outings include shopping trips, dining at The Strand, Lucky Platter and Rivers Casino, plus visits to Pittsburgh Pirates, Lincolnwood Library and an Alzheimer’s awareness walk. Religious and holiday programming includes Labor Day on September 7, Rosh Hashanah services and meals September 11–13 and Shofar Blowing. Other featured activities include Happy Hours with Vince Micari and Leslie Gray-Robbins, a Spanish Guitar and Violin Happy Hour and a going-away party.

Independent Living Activities Calendar – September 20–30, 2026: September 2026 Independent Living activities calendar with an illustrated fall apple theme, covering September 20 through 30. The schedule includes church services, Yom Kippur observances, moving for mobility, support groups, aqua fitness, water workouts, chair yoga, Rock Steady Boxing, creative projects, book club, tech help, dining outings and movies. Featured events include a special Yom Kippur meal and break-the-fast meal, shopping trips to Aldi, Home Depot, PetSmart and TJ Maxx, an outing to Lincoln Park Zoo, Happy Hour with the Jeannie Tanner Duo, Oktoberfest Celebration, a Shenanigans Ukulele Band performance and Happy Hour with Randy Walker. A meeting-place key lists locations such as activity rooms, libraries, Bistro, Fitness Center, IL Café, dining room, theater and outing areas.

I truly believe my mother's life was extended and it was certainly transformed for the better when she moved out of her lonely house into the Carrington.    My mother was thrilled to play Bridge again, started the Rosary group and loved her Happy Hours and activities with all the new friends that she made.   Initially my mother was very reluctant to move out of the home she had lived in for 55 years.  But a few months after she moved into the Carrington, I asked her how she was enjoying her new community and lovely apartment.  My mother replied "I never thought I would live in such luxury!"
